The Eligibility Unit administers several Health Care Coverages. They are Medicaid including Expansion and coverage for individuals who need nursing care or other special services, Medicare Savings Program, Healthy Steps, Children’s Special Health Services and Aid to the Blind. Medicaid is also tied to the Basic Care Assistance Program.
Healthcare Coverage
- No interviews are required but someone is available on intake days to answer questions
- Primary individual on application is responsible for reporting changes and providing information
- Primary individual should be an adult even if you are wanting services only for your child.
- Read all notices sent to you by your Eligibility Worker as additional information may be requested from you
- Notices sent will have your Eligibility Worker’s name and extension number listed.
- Leave clear concise messages when calling, include your name and a return phone number with a working voicemail to leave a message

Overpayments
Information you list on the application or review must be accurate. Knowingly providing false or misleading information may result in us taking legal action against you, either criminal or civil. You will be responsible to repay any payments or premiums paid through Health Care Coverage resulting from inaccurate information.
The following changes must be reported within 10 days: A change in household members – someone moves in or out, or a baby is born; A new job; A change in income or assets; A new address; A change in health insurance coverage; A household member becomes pregnant; or A child quits or starts school. Even the smallest changes in your monthly gross income can affect your eligibility. Failure to timely report changes can also result in overpayments.
